Join us for an engaging Colorado Worker Co-op Peer Network event to connect with other worker co-op members and to learn about funding opportunities for co-ops. Ashley Ortiz, Deputy Director at Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC), will be sharing information about funding opportunities for co-ops via Seed Commons, a cooperatively-governed national Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

Seed Commons has already invested over $101 million in democratically-run, worker-owned businesses, impacting more than 12,760 workers—the majority of whom were low-income at the time of investment. They make investments between $5,000-$1MM.

About Our Speaker:

🌟 Ashley Ortiz, Deputy Director at Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC), has a background of more than 15 years in entrepreneurial business support with a passion for an equitable economy. Her previous work includes cooperative business development with the Arizmendi Association of Cooperatives in the Bay Area and work as a baker-owner at Arizmendi Bakery in San Rafael. Ashley co-founded the L.A. Co-op Lab, has taught classes about labor/power dynamics in worker-owned cooperatives, and participated in start.coop’s business accelerator program designed to empower entrepreneurs to build transformative, scalable, cooperatively-owned businesses. Ashley earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado and holds an M.A. in Urban Sustainability focused on social and economic justice from Antioch University in Los Angeles.

🌟 Ashley Ortiz, Directora Adjunta en Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC), tiene una experiencia de más de 15 años en el apoyo a empresas emprendedoras con una pasión por una economía equitativa. Su trabajo anterior incluye el desarrollo de cooperativas con la Asociación de Cooperativas Arizmendi acerca de San Francisco y el trabajo como panadera-propietaria en Arizmendi Bakery en San Rafael. Ashley cofundó el L.A.
