In today’s fast-paced, productivity and convenience oriented society I think taking extra time and care in our relationships has been demoralized. We have an opportunity as a small community of like-minded people to come together and do something differently in regard to our partnerships, friendships and communities. So far as a community we’ve talked about boundaries, intimacy, communication, love languages, self-love and now it’s time to think about the bridges of connection and how we welcome others in, through co-creating extraordinary connections. In the old time villages, we would not think twice about our role and equally help raise children take care of elderly, be supportive of friends in all areas of life, just as much as you would support your partner or your children. This worked, because there were so many people doing the same thing, reciprocating gifts, favors, and co-creating this fulfillment. So if someone wasn’t available, it was not an argument, and then isolation, but an opportunity for resourcing. The talk will also go over how this idea of extraordinary relationships doesn’t mean extra pressures and actually means less pressure on one person to be everything. We’ll have an open dialogue, do exercises and assessments to develop our generosity, towards ourselves and others for extraordinary connection in life.
What are some key things that create extraordinary connection?
Our Love More community has our own five core standards that are a great place to start this foundation.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS:
1. Respect:
This is a very protective thing for relationships. Honoring the other, differences are ok.
2. Kindness:
This is like a healing balm for the soul, right? You’re having a tough day, even a thank you means so much.
3. Honesty:
This is very purifying and cleansing for a relationship. If things are meant to be, they will be and being honest helps the other person get where they’re meant to go.
4. Safety:
We are used to thinking of safety as like laws and regulations, but it’s actually very freeing in a relationship. When we feel safe, we feel free to be our silliest, fun, most vulnerable and confident selves.
5. Only Approved Solicitations:
Creativity also demands a certain level of structure and alignment and certain events, content, offerings are not in alignment with Love More. Always get approval from event organizers for your offerings to ensure we are a container for things in alignment with our community standards.
