Exploring 20th and 21st Century Piano Repertoire of Diverse Styles, Levels of Difficulty, and Origins with Jennifer Peringer
Join piano faculty Jennifer Peringer in learning about diverse 20th and 21st century composers and their works through live performance, video recordings, and group discussions of stylistic and technical aspects. Jennifer will share a list of graded repertoire representing 20th and 21st century piano works by composers including men and women from Europe, North America, and Latin America. The pieces are stylistically diverse, ranging from early 20th century salon/Romantic, Impressionist and modernist, to mid 20th century avante-garde and experimental, to late 20th century minimalist and jazz-influenced, to 21st century eclectic. Handouts and suggested resources such as anthologies will be provided.
