"Garden Tool Maintenance"
with John and Dona Hardi, Avid Gardeners
It’s time to inventory your garden tools and come learn how to take better care of your tools so they can take care of your garden.
This meeting will be a “hands on” show and tell meeting, focusing on cleaning, sharpening, lubricating and protecting/storing your garden tools.
John and Dona Hardi have been Falls Church Garden Club members for over 20 years and Falls Church residents (in 3 different homes) for 50 years. John is retired from Federal Government work, and Dona is a retired elementary school teacher. They have two sons, the youngest lives a mile from them with 3 grandsons and a wife who is the mayor of Falls Church. Their older son lives in DC and is engaged to be married. John and Dona are mostly perennial gardeners, including shrubs, and they work on the club’s WOD Trail Team, which is a source of great pleasure and pride to them both.

The Falls Church Garden Club is a community of gardeners who enjoy sharing knowledge, plants, and snacks. Our desire to learn more about gardening unites us.
The club meets ten months of the year, with a garden tour, a plant swap, club outings, and a large annual plant sale, which is open to the public. We maintain a native plant garden along the W&OD bike trail and donate to other community-serving organizations.
While anyone anywhere is welcome to join our club, most members tend gardens within or just outside the city of Falls Church. More broadly, our gardens are in Northern Virginia, Zone 7.
Whether you have a large, small, or container garden, or just wish for a garden, you will find a place with us. All experience levels are welcome!
