Live greek rebetiko with Meteora (Thomai Gkantiraga, Anna Gavanas, Peter Gavanas) and Andreas KrambiasMeteora mainly plays live rebetika (underground Greek music from the 1920s and onwards) and consists of Thomai Gkantiraga (guitar & vocals), Anna Gavanas (baglamas & vocals) and Peter Gavanas (bouzouki). From upbeat tsifteteli to deep grooves inspired by the mountains of Meteora and the streets of Exarcheia/ Athens.
Club Maqam explores musical encounters and crossroads in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Gathering musicians, dancers and experts inspired by century long Ottoman and Arabic traditions we create spaces for people to meet, learn, and collaborate.
Since 2021 we have arranged Club Maqam events in Stockholm (Antikvariat Verklighetsflykt, Kulturhuset Cyklopen, Time Bar) and Göteborg (Folk, Bivac, Cyrano, Kulturhuset Oceanen).
