Join us at the VortexATX for a day of comedy, drag and clowning? That's right!
Clownidarity Forever is a fundraising event that seeks to remind people that resistence and building hope can take many forms, such as: laughter, play, and comedy! Proceeds from ticket sales and a portion of vending sales will be donated to a clown apart of the Gaza circus School named, Uncle Tito!
Event Overview:
Doors: 1:30pm
Screening of "The Horse of Jenin" by Alaa Shehada:" at 2pm
"The Horse of Jenin" is an award winning film inspired by events experienced around Alaa's own life during the occupation of Palestine and stand as an ode to the power of imagination and the resilience it brings.
Clown Drag Show: 3:45pm

Tickets are between $10-15 but there's a "Pay what you can" option as well!
We will also have Watermelon Film Club tabling and will be giving info on how people can go volunteer in Palestine. Palestine Online Store will be also selling olive oil and kufiyas, a portion of the sales will go towards the fundraiser! And finally we'd like the Votex for hosting us and local commedia dell'arte group, La Fenice, for helping pay for the screening!
(There is a ramp access to the inside theater where the screening is taking place and an outdoor stage that is also wheelchair accessable!)
