About this Event

4-H youth that are aged 5-7 are known as Cloverbuds! We will be having a 4-week program for this age group in April/May. A parent/adult is required to be with each youth/family in order to help facilitate our projects. Cloverbuds will be from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Snacks will be provided, but not a supper.

CLOVERBUDS --- What will be happening?

  • April 23rd --- Theme: The Science of Sound
  • We will be learning about the science of sound through making shakers, tin can telephones, rubber band guitars, and seeing different instrument to learn about music!
  • April 30th --- Theme: Weaving & Dyeing
  • We will be tie-dying shirts, working on paper quilts & weaving, and discussing dyeing with natural dyes!
  • May 7th --- Theme: Digging those Dinosaurs
  • We will be making our own fossil rocks to dig into later, learning about how big a T.Rex's smile is, learning the names of different dinosaurs, and going on our own fossil dig!
  • May 14th --- Theme: Bubble Mania
  • This session will be at a local park and include a cookout and short awards ceremony! We will be doing bubble art, standing in a bubble, and making homemade root beer!

The fee for Cloverbuds will be $15 for all four sessions. All participants get a 'Haywood County 4-H Cloverbuds' t-shirt, which we will be tie-dyeing during week two!
