Did you know that the global fashion industry is responsible for around 10% of global carbon emissions?

Clothing production today is faster and cheaper than ever before, but that also means garments are worn fewer times and discarded faster.

In Singapore, hundreds of thousands of tonnes of textile waste are generated every year, yet only a small fraction is recycled.

When clothes are thrown away, we don't just lose the fabric… we lose all the water, energy, raw materials, and labour that went into producing them.

Join us at The Fashion Pulpit for an immersive eco-literacy workshop where we connect the dots between your wardrobe and climate change.

THE WORKSHOP

Decode climate science in a fun, gamified participatory learning style.

Climate Fresk is a globally recognised workshop based on the latest IPCC climate science, where participants collaborate to map the cause-and-effect relationships behind climate change.

In this special edition with The Fashion Pulpit, we explore how the fashion industry contributes to the climate crisis and how circular fashion can be part of the solution.

Some of the themes we will explore include:

Fashion’s Carbon Footprint - The fashion industry contributes significantly to global emissions through fibre production, manufacturing, transportation and disposal.

Fast Fashion & Overconsumption - Many garments today are worn only a handful of times before being discarded, increasing waste and accelerating resource use.

Circular Fashion Solutions - Extending the life of clothing through swapping, resale, repair and mindful consumption can dramatically reduce environmental impact.

THE SWAP EXPERIENCE

After the workshop, participants will be invited to experience The Fashion Pulpit’s clothing swap.

Your workshop sign-up fee fully goes into covering the trial swap membership signup fee! This means you can enjoy the trial membership experience without paying the additional signup fee

The goal is simply to help participants experience a circular fashion model firsthand.

Participants are welcome to bring up to five clean, good-quality pre-loved clothing items if they would like to try the swap experience.

(Participation in the swap is optional.)
