Clark Tracey Quartet feat. Alan Barnes: Suites of Stan!
Multi award winning drummer Clark Tracey pays tribute to some of the many quartet suites penned by his legendary father, Stan Tracey CBE.
The group will perform excerpts from The Poets' Suite, South East Assignment, A Child's Xmas and, also, the complete music from the iconic Under Milk Wood suite!
Alan Barnes is a prolific international performer, composer, arranger, bandleader and touring soloist. He is best known for his work on clarinet, alto and baritone sax, where he combines a formidable virtuosity with a musical expression and collaborative spirit that have few peers.
Gareth Williams has worked with Clark for 25 years and has taken the chair for all Stan Tracey tribute gigs.
Alec Dankworth joins Clark in his own rich jazz heritage and has worked with Clark since the mid-80s.
Clark Tracey -"Best Drummer" in the British Jazz Awards 2017 & 2018
"For me Tracey is a world-class musician whose mature and distinctive artistry - his own 'snap-crackle' - is right up there with the likes of Philly Joe Jones and Roy Haynes" - Jazz Journal 2024
