Lostintheletters kicks off 2025 with live readings from:
Claire Bateman is the author of The Pillow Museum (FC2 Press, January 2025) and nine poetry collections, most recently, Wonders of the Invisible World with 42 Miles Press and Scape with New Issues Poetry & Prose. She has been awarded Individual Artist Fellowships by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Tennessee Arts Commission, and the Surdna Foundation, as well as two Pushcart Prizes and the New Millennium Poetry Prize, also twice.
Laura Jaramillo is a poet and critic. Born to Colombian parents in Queens, New York, she now lives in Durham, North Carolina. Her books include Material Girl (subpress, 2012) and Making Water (Futurepoem, 2022). She holds a PhD in critical theory from Duke University. She co-runs the North Carolina-based reading and performance series Paradiso.
Dashiel Carrera is a novelist, sound media artist, and human-computer interaction researcher. The author of the novel The Deer (Dalkey Archive Press, 2022) his writing appears in Los Angeles Review of Books, Lit Hub, FENCE, BOMB and Brooklyn Rail, and he is an Assistant Editor at Conjunctions. His writing has been supported by Breadloaf, the BANFF Centre, and WordTheatre and his media work has won support from from HackPrinceton, HackCooper, UKAI Projects and elsewhere. He is currently a Visiting PhD Scholar / Artist at Georgia Tech where he is at work on a large-scale interactive sound piece with inflatable clouds.
Crystal Jin Kim is an artist and award-winning independent filmmaker from Atlanta, Georgia. She is a 2023-2025 Filmmaker in Residence with the Atlanta Film Society and a 2020-2022 alumnus of The Creatives Project’s Artist-in-Studio residency program. She received Asian Cultural Empowerment's inaugural Grant Award in 2021 and was nominated for the 2023 United States Artists Fellowship award in filmmaking. Crystal graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Radio/Television/Film and in Art Theory and Practice. Her short films have screened at numerous film festivals in the U.S. and abroad. These include the Atlanta Film Festival, Seoul International Youth Film Festival, and CAAMFest. Crystal's arts practice also includes cut mother-of-pearl, photography, drawing, and painting.
