For our March meeting, we’re hosting Phil Spaugy. Phil is a Civil War firearms expert and author who focuses on the arms of his home state of Ohio. As a member of the North South Skirmish Association, he has live fired almost every type of American Civil War firearm.Phil will discuss the infantry arms of the 1861 volunteers and the influence of weapons altered by Miles Greenwood of Cincinnati on arming Ohio's first volunteers.
This presentation will include a display of many of the infantry arms issued to Ohio's 1861 infantry regiments with a focus on the arms altered in 1861 by Miles Greenwood of Cincinnati.
Everyone is welcome to attend and admission is $5 at the door.
