Explore the city at night and capture its stories. Our cities shift in their liveliness as the lights change.
In this 2-Part workshop, Kate Hailey will share inspiration and techniques during a presentation, online. The online session will be recorded and available for later viewing for all registered attendees. In the second session, our small group will meet, in person, on location to put concepts into practice.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?
- This course is for the curious, the creative, the travellers.
- Those individuals who seek to create images that have a fresh viewpoint.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL - Intermediate to Advanced
Attendees should have an understanding of using their cameras in manual mode; a solid grasp of ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance, and essentials in their menu system.
Attendees will leave this session with stronger photographic skills, including technical understanding, creativity, and more.
BONUS MATERIALS
All registered attendees will receive a bonus ebook, highlighting techniques and gear for creating images in this genre, a $10 value.
As well, you will be able to join Kate's private Facebook group, for sharing work, asking questions, and staying connected.
WHAT TO BRING
Attendees will receive a gear list, and specific meeting location details in reminder emails, these emails will come via the Eventbrite website.
SCHEDULE
ONLINE PRESENTATION ONLY - OCTOBER 2, 2023
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM - Presentation via Zoom
This presentation will be about 45 minutes, with time for Q&A. It will be recorded and available for later viewing. Look for a Zoom link to the online presentation about 30 minutes before we go live. There will also be a reminder email, via Eventbrite, 2 days in advance of the live session.
IN-PERSON WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 5, 2023
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Location will be in Seattle
The location will be shared via email to those registered for the in-person workshop. The in-person outing will include opportunities to do some street photography as well as urban landscapes/cityscapes.
It is highly encouraged to participate in the live presentation or view it before you meet with Kate in person, this session will help prepare you for the location experience. Viewing this session will give you more time in the field to work with Kate, as it lays the groundwork for settings and composition.
ABOUT KATE HAILEY
Kate is a Portrait & Travel Photographer based in Seattle. Kate’s work is a mix of studio portraiture to street photography, blending in movement and stories along the way. When she’s not creating images you’ll find her teaching Photography, Portraiture & Lighting. Her most current work can be found on her Instagram feed @KateHailey.
