Wellington is joining the world in the global wildlife count! Will you join us? All you need to do is 🔭explore, 📸 snap, and 📲 share.A bunch of local events scattered throughout Te Upoko o te Ika (Wellington Region) will help you do just that! Throughout 24-27 April, we are teaming up with other nature enthusiasts and experts to bring local City Nature Challenge-inspired events to you. Updates on community events near you (and some spot prizes!!!) will be posted to this event page.
Annually, the City Nature Challenge invites cities from across the world to compete to see who can log the most nature observations on iNaturalist over four days.
Not only is this challenge a fun way to explore nature in our own backyard, but knowing what species are in our city and where they are helps us study and protect them.
Taking part is simple:
🔭 explore wildlife Friday 24 to Monday 27 April
📸 take a photo of what you find
📲 share it to iNaturalist app or website
