Encore Choir presents "Roles Reversed"
About this Event

Join City Academy Encore for an intimate candlelit evening of songs around the piano from the stage and screen in the beautiful surroundings of the historic St George The Martyr.

Led entirely by choir members in aid of charity, our singers will step into the spotlight solo to perform songs that are role and gender reversed, taking on numbers from the shows which they would never usually get to perform! Finally our baritones get to sing Defying Gravity and don their best Elphaba attire, whilst our Sopranos take on the melodic wonders of Jean Valjean; Do you hear the women sing!

Tickets for the event are only £6 + fees, and every penny raised will go directly to support the wonderful work of Saving Strays. Ticket price includes a drink (alcoholic and soft drinks available) and some light nibbles donated and supplied by Encore members. There will also be a raffle held on the night so get those tickets and lucky charms at the ready!

Doors open at 7:30pm with performances starting at 7:45 pm promptly. The evening will finish at 9:00pm.

Saving Strays is a small volunteer organization dedicated to alleviating suffering, educating kindly and helping stray dogs in need. They believe that there should be no discrimination in rescue as we are all working to the same goal of helping misplaced dogs. They help stray dogs in the UK when asked and their grass roots work in Bosnia continues to grow. The dogs they rescue have been abandoned, neglected or mistreated and are in need of urgent support. They achieved charity status in 2020 (as Saving Suffering Strays) having been run by a board of trustees in waiting since 2018. In 2022 the name was altered to Saving Strays. They respond to urgent calls from concerned members of the public, and rescue dogs from death row and offer lifetime care to dogs in need as they believe that ‘Every Single Life Matters’. They have an in house team of Home Checkers who are trained to find the best possible homes for their dogs, and find adopters and fosterers for dogs that come into their care.
