This interactive experience blends art, sustainability, and dialogue—inviting you to reflect on the lifecycle of everyday electronics and the real-world impacts of climate change.


What You’ll Do

Create art using repurposed e-waste materials

Engage in guided, rotating table conversations led by climate experts

Explore thought-provoking topics like:

  • The hidden cost of everyday technology
  • How climate change is already affecting Washington, DC
  • Climate in daily life: what changes feel realistic?
  • Practical ways individuals can engage in climate action and available public resources
  • A question to spark curiosity: What is one climate-related question you wish more people asked in your field?

About Our Facilitators

Sarah Shamash and Jocelyn Marquez are climate ecologists trained at George Washington University, bringing both research expertise and a passion for public engagement.

Sarah is a published author in Science and has served as a research fellow with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, as well as a Global Sustainability Scholar in Panama.

Jocelyn previously worked with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as a Climate Fellow, researching climate hazards and vulnerabilities across the southwestern United States, and now works at the intersection of education and conservation.
