SYNOPSIS: In the wake of her grandmother's funeral, hotel manager Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) is waiting to fly back home when she meets charming Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy) at check-in. What begins as a charming meet-cute soon becomes a deadly descent into terror as Lisa realizes she's inadvertently become part of an assassination plot that also puts the life of her father Joe (Brian Cox) in danger.
Directed by Wes Craven, this 2005 thriller's box office take was nearly four times its modest $26 million budget. It currently holds an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Although Cillian Murphy doesn't rank his performance in RED EYE as one of his best, in 2021 he said, "But, listen, if people love the movie then that's great. I'm pleased with that," adding in 2024 that he loves lead actress Rachel McAdams and they had fun making the film: "It's a good B movie."
