THE GROKE
AKA the solo project of Alexander Sokolow, frontman of South London indie-popsters Tugboat Captain. Alex and his band have been called 'the hardest working musicians on the London DIY scene', with three albums (most recently Rut, out on Double A-Side Records) and another three from The Groke. Alex and his band have had invites to Texas (SXSW), Norway (Indie Fjords) and Abbey Road as well as shows with The Wave Pictures, Max Bloom (Yuck), Holiday Ghosts, LYNKS and John Hassall (The Libertines). They're a staple of South East London, with Alex working as the promoter for the Cav Arms until recently, as well as his most recent album Upper Brockley Road being an homage to the area. This is a special opportunity to experience a rare outing from The Groke, Brockley's best-kept secret.
