Repertoire Dogs is a jazz ensemble that takes material from a wide variety of sources, including rock'n'roll, film or TV music and even some classical works, alongside some original works by bandleader Christian Vaughan. The band covers virtually anything except standard jazz repertoire, although its members are all too familiar with that as well. We believe that any music can be jazz, and jazz is whatever you want it to be. After Christian's near-death experience last year, we simply want to celebrate the joy of music making and its importance in everyone's lives!Pianist and composer Christian Vaughan trained on the Royal Academy of Music Jazz Course, and since graduating in 1994 has worked extensively as a performer, composer and teacher. Having played live with artists ranging from Bobby Wellins to Tony Rémy and Rebecca Ferguson, he is frequently sought after as a bandleader or musical director. He led the band for BBC1 chat show "Johnny Vaughan Tonight" and arranged strings for the Mike Leigh film "Career Girls” but is currently focussing primarily on performing in venues around his native London.
