About this Event
A one day course exploring alternative photographic processes using leaves as a natural medium. Participants will learn how to select and edit images thoughtfully, considering composition, contrast, and suitability for organic printing surfaces. The course covers the preparation of materials, including choosing and treating leaves, as well as step-by-step guidance on printing techniques adapted to these delicate forms. Attention is given to preservation methods, addressing the ephemeral nature of organic materials and how to extend the lifespan of the work. Historical context will be introduced, referencing early photographic experiments and connections to sustainable and experimental practices. By the end of the course, participants will have created their own leaf-based photographic pieces and gained a deeper understanding of materiality, process, and the relationship between image, nature, and time.
