Hi all! We are arranging an event to celebrate Chinese New Year in London. There are no tickets to buy or pressure to face. It is just a bunch of great people hanging out and enjoying Chinese culture. You can find details below on the itinerary and times. Everyone is welcome!
Chinese New Year Parade Meetup Plan
🗓 Date: Sunday, 2nd February, 2025
⏰ Time: Meet at 09:30 AM
📍 Meeting Point: Trafalgar Square, near the entrance of the National Gallery
Schedule for the Day
09:45 AM – Meet Up Finish
Gather at the meeting point. We’ll wait for 10-15 minutes for everyone to arrive.
Please arrive on time so we can get a good spot for the parade!
10:00 AM – Find a Viewing Spot
We’ll walk together to a good spot along Charing Cross Road to watch the parade.
The parade starts at 10:00 AM, so we’ll settle in and enjoy the atmosphere.
10:00 AM - 13:00 PM – Watch the Parade
Watch the colorful floats, lion dances, and performers as the parade moves from Trafalgar Square, up Charing Cross Road, past Leicester Square, and onto Shaftesbury Avenue.
13:00 PM – Lunch in Chinatown
After the parade ends near Wardour Street, we’ll head into Chinatown to grab some lunch.
Please bring your own money to buy lunch.
Options will include food stalls or sit-down restaurants. You can decide what you’d like to eat.
15:00 PM – Explore Chinatown
Walk around Chinatown and check out the festive stalls.
Browse decorations, souvenirs, or snacks, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
16:30 PM – End of Meetup
After exploring, you’re free to stay and enjoy the area or head home. If anyone wants to hang out longer, we can discuss it as a group.
Important Notes
Dress warmly: The parade is outdoors, and it’s January!
Bring cash or card: You’ll need money for lunch and any snacks or souvenirs.
Be on time: We’ll stick to the schedule so everyone can enjoy the day.
