Celebrate Chinese New Year at AMC!
Join us for a special Chinese New Year celebration at Acupuncture and Massage College, as we celebrate Chinese and medicine with a fun day of learning and wellness activities. The event is free and lunch will be provided.
10 am: Start the Day with FREE Auriculotherapy and Chair Massage Treatments and Visit with Local Vendors!
- Auriculotherapy: A form of ear acupuncture that uses points on the skin of the auricle (external ear) to diagnose and treat pain and medical conditions of the body.
- Chair Massages: A relaxed and seat take on massage therapy, that is especially beneficial to treating stress and pain in the shoulders, upper back, and neck.
10:30 am to 11:20 pm: New Year Yoga (if possible please bring a yoga mat)
A relaxing, session of yoga that will focus on improving well-being and health through postures, breath control, and meditation.
11:30 am to 12:20 pm: Qi Gong with Chad Bailey, AP, DOM, DCH, Sifu, Guro
Qi Gong is a form of traditional Chinese exercise composed of gentle movements that help to stretch the body, increase fluid movement (blood, synovial and lymph) and builds awareness of how the body moves through space.
12:30 pm to 1 pm: Interesting Facts about Chinese New Year’s with Dr. Chuanxin Wang
Many in the West celebrate Chinese New Year as a fad, but few actually know much about it. Learn about Chinese New Year from a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, our very own, Dr. Wang!
1 pm to 2 pm: FREE Chinese New Year’s Lunch
It would be hard to celebrate Chinese New Year without Chinese Food! A free Chinese lunch will be provided by AMC.
2 pm to 3 pm: Sound Healing with Nathalie Henrich (if possible please bring a yoga mat)
Sound healing is an alternative medical practice that aims to restore natural rhythm and frequency by transmitting beneficial sounds to an affected area, which are produced by voice or an instrument, thus healing our subconscious thoughts and emotions.
