The Arthur Conan Doyle Centre is delighted to collaborate with this duo of amazing musicians to offer an Ensemble concert of Chinese-Scottish Music in our gorgeous Helen Duncan Room.
Bio:
Li Rong Rong and Eddie McGuire first played together in September 1990 at the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow during its year as European City of Culture.
Rong Rong teaches pi'pa and has been performing with various Chinese music ensembles in Scotland.
Eddie is a well known composer and plays in The Whistlebinkies Scottish folk group who have performed at Dollar Music Society in past years.
The group toured China in 1991 where they learned some music to perform with local musicians. Following that, Eddie developed his interest in Chinese traditional music.
