About this Event
Kunqu Opera is one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera still being performed today, combining music, dance, drama, and stunning costumes. It has been designated by the United Nations as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
On February 16th, New York Kunqu Society will present selected highlight pieces of classical Kunqu opera works to Queens Botanical Garden. We welcome you and your loved ones to come and celebrate Yuanxiao, the end of the Lunar New Year period, and experience this captivating artform.
Chinese and English subtitles will be provided.

昆曲是中國戲曲最古老劇種之一。昆曲糅合了唱念做打、舞蹈及武術等,以曲詞典雅、行腔婉轉、表演細膩著稱,是被譽為“百戲之祖”的南戲系統下之一的曲種。
