About this Event
Children's Musical Storytime
Every other month on a Saturday morning, Austin Camerata brings a live string quartet right into the heart of the bookstore for a free, high-energy performance designed for families. The concept is simple but powerful: as a reader shares a beloved children's book, our musicians perform a live soundtrack that brings the story to life.
We love finding creative ways to weave music and literacy together — like pairing the sneaky, tiptoeing tension of Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" with the forest antics of "Shhh! We Have a Plan," or matching the fluttering trills of Vivaldi's "Spring" with the journey of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."
By bringing music like Beethoven into such a playful environment, we show kids and their grown-ups the joy of classical music in an approachable, joyful environment.
Be sure to RSVP so we can plan on how many people to expect, and please consider donating! We are able to keep these events free for families because of your support. Any amount makes a huge difference!
