About this Event

Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport

The Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport (CWPS) workshop has been created by sportscotland in partnership with Children 1st to refresh and update the content to reflect changes in society and sport and be more relevant for current coaching practice.

Taking a blended learning approach, the main change is the inclusion of an eLearning (Module 1) which is theory-based, followed by a three-hour training course (Module 2) that puts the learning from Module 1 into context and practice.

WHEN BOOKING, PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE CARE WHEN ENTERING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, AS INCORRECT SPELLINGS WILL RESULT IN THE CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING EMAIL CONTAINING THE LINK TO COMPULSORY eLEARNING MODULE 1 AND SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATIONS (including the virtual classroom link) FAILING TO ARRIVE IN YOUR INBOX.

What is a virtual classroom?

A virtual classroom is an online learning environment, which is interactive and you can access it from the comfort of your own home. You can see and talk live to the course tutor, other participants, ask questions and view slides/video content. The course will be delivered in the virtual classroom in an interactive style, similar in feel to attending an in-person CWPS workshop. The tutor will lead you through the learning outcomes, providing information, facilitating discussions for the whole group and managing small breakout groups.

How does it work?

You will need access to a computer (desktop/laptop) or a tablet and a good internet connection, some smartphones can also connect. Once you register for the course, you will receive an email with joining instructions that contains a web-link that you click which will allow you to enter the virtual classroom and enjoy the course.
