About this Event

Do you love to sing?

Come unleash the power of your voice in a joyful evening of improvisational singing and circle songs!

Chicago Circle Singing is a welcoming, community-centered gathering where singers of all levels come together for freedom, connection, and playful musical expression.

This month we will be led by guest host and facilitator, . Onome is a partner artist at Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute, where she contributes her performances and trainings across their vast educational programming spectrum. She is a collaborator as an artist-in-residence, teaching artist, and trainer with organizations like the United Nations, Teachers College-Columbia University, Juilliard, Música do Círculo in Brazil, Grace Episcopal Church, and Bobby McFerrin's CircleSongs retreat at Omega Institute.

Inspired by the improvisational practices of , , and other vocal luminaries, Onome will guide the group through interactive vocal games and accessible exercises to warm up the body and voice. As the session flows, the magic of circle singing will unfold—spontaneous, rhythms and layered harmonies created in the moment by everyone in the room.

It’s a sweet way to connect more deeply with the community, make new singing friends, and enjoy a little treat together. All are welcome!

🎶 No Experience Necessary

Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or someone who just loves to sing in the shower, your voice belongs here. This is an inclusive, supportive space to explore the joy of sound, expression, and community.

😰 Feeling Nervous?

We totally get it.

This gathering is designed to be a mistake-free, judgment-free, and welcoming environment.

We let go of the rules, restrictions, and fears often found in traditional singing settings—and just SING.

When we do, something truly magical happens.

🎤 About Chicago Circle Singing

Chicago Circle Singing builds community through the simple yet profound act of collective singing. In a disconnected world, we create a space where voices intertwine, fostering belonging and connection through spontaneous, co-created music. Regardless of background or ability, everyone has a place in the circle, because singing together isn’t just about making music—it’s about making community.
