About Chesney Park NIA: Chesney Park in Topeka, Kansas, is the city's oldest existing park, with land for it purchased in 1875. It is centrally located in a neighborhood named after the park, featuring early 1900s homes and serving as a community hub for recreation, surrounded by the historical residential area near Washburn University.
What's an NIA? Neighborhood Improvement Associations (NIA) give residents a voice in local government on issues like development, crime prevention, street conditions, preservation, and revitalization. They work to enhance the safety, beauty, and vibrancy of neighborhood.
