About this Event
Asteroids are time capsules from the very beginning of our Solar System. They can help us understand more about the formation and history of Earth and other bodies in the Solar System. And, it is thought that asteroids delivered the key ingredients for life to our young planet billions of years ago. But there’s still a lot we don’t know or understand.
NASA’s OSIRIS‑REx spacecraft visited the asteroid Bennu, collected material from its surface, and brought it back to Earth. This gives scientists an amazing chance to study what Bennu is made of and what it can tell us about the Solar System’s past and the history of Bennu.
