Learn how your role helps people overcome adversity through the relationships you build with them and how to support yourself.
About this Event

The first series of the training will be open for those working in the voluntary and community sector in the Charnwood area.

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Public Health and Mental Health Friendly Places would like to invite you to this foundational training, which has been created in collaboration with and for our local voluntary and community sector, through the Better Mental Health for All Network. This training was created following a request from voluntary and community sector partners to have more knowledge and practical skills of how to support people accessing their services with mental health or personality difficulties.

The training draws on some Trauma Informed Care principles, which will help you think about how to support individuals to develop empowering connections and build fulfilling lives. You will learn how your role helps people overcome adversity through the relationships you build with them and how to support yourself.

A key ambition of the training is for professionals and voluntary sector partners to develop a consistent approach when supporting people with personality difficulties who are often bounced around from organisation to organisations.

You must attend all three of the below sessions

  • The Theory – understanding the psychology behind supporting people – Tuesday 28th April 2026, 9.00am to 12:30pm, Fearon Hall, Loughborough
  • Healthy Conversations – practical tools to improve the quality of your conversations to help support people to manage and improve their own mental health and wellbeing – Wednesday 13th May 2026 , 9.00am to 1pm, Fearon Hall, Loughborough
  • Reflective session – bringing together the theory and practical sessions and making it relevant to your day to day.
