About this Event
Join us for the , a space for charity leaders in Brighton to:
- step away from the grind
- stop overthinking on their own and
- gain fresh perspectives on common challenges.
These warm and relaxed two-hour gatherings offer non-judgemental conversation, practical ideas and connection with others in similar situations.
Location: Floor 5, Platf9rm Brighton Tower Point, North Road (head up in the lift when you arrive and our space is on the left as you enter the double doors on Floor 5)
How does it work?
The two-hour session starts with refreshments and introductions.
Our guests on the sofa share their perspectives and learnings, with an informal, moderated conversation, followed by your questions.
In April, we'll be talking about overwhelm, and we will be hearing from:
- Pam Howard, a psychotherapist and senior academic at Brighton University with specific expertise in burnout and professional overwhelm, and
- Gary Bishop, charity founder, CEO, leadership coach and fellow struggler with overwhelm and burnout.
You’ll gather in small groups to collectively examine specific challenges you’re having related to the chosen theme – working with each other to come up with practical solutions, benefitting from the experience of others in the room.
Leave with:
- Useful ideas to put into practice
- A clearer perspective on something you've been overthinking
- Renewed energy to tackle the challenge.
Who are we?
We are Maria and Caz, charity consultants who regularly talk to charity leaders about the challenges they face in their day-to-day work.
We are putting these sessions together to offer a dedicated space for open conversations and practical problem solving.
Why ‘sofa sessions?’
Because the events are relaxed, informal and comfortable, and include comfortable seating (and good snacks).
