About this Event
Why This Gathering Is Different
This is not an average panel discussion. It is a moderated conversation between people who have spent their careers trying to make nuclear risk legible to the rest of us—and who will bring that same directness to a room of people committed enough to show up.
Whether you have followed these issues for years or are trying to make sense of what you've been reading in the news, you will leave with something concrete: a clearer picture of what’s happening, what the risks are, and where diplomacy, the only reliable path to preventing the next nation from going nuclear, has room to succeed.
About Ploughshares
Founded in San Francisco in 1981, Ploughshares is a public foundation devoted to nuclear weapons threat reduction. For more than four decades, we have connected and funded the researchers, advocates, and diplomats working to reduce global nuclear stockpiles and make arms control possible—awarding more than $100 million in grants along the way. Washington State, home to the third-largest nuclear weapons arsenal in the world, is central to this work. Conversations like this one are part of how we build the informed public that diplomacy ultimately depends on.
This event is made possible by the generous support of our donors. We are grateful for every one of them
Ploughshares | Chain Reaction 2026
Every new ally represents a critical innovator of change. Be part of the chain reaction.
Sponsorship Opportunities
All Chain Reaction sponsors will receive:
- Recognition on print and electronic Chain Reaction materials, onscreen during all four programs, on the Ploughshares website, and in the 2026 annual report.
- Admission for up to eight people (one table).
Sally Lilienthal Sponsor – $20,000+. A Sally Lilienthal Sponsorship honors the legacy of our founder. A gift of $20,000 allows us to make grants that respond to urgent needs, such as “fly-ins” so constituents can meet directly with congressional offices and advocate against dangerous nuclear legislation. Sally Lilienthal Sponsors are listed as co-chairs of the Host Committee and will receive verbal recognition during the program and VIP seating for you and your guests.
Advocate Level – $10,000. An Advocate level sponsorship helps educate and support the next generation working to eliminate nuclear weapons. For example, $10,000 is the stipend each Ploughshares Nuclear Futures Fellow receives to kickstart an innovative capstone project at their home organization. Advocates receive verbal recognition during the program and VIP seating for you and your guests.
Activist Level – $5,000. As an Activist, you support coordination activities to shift public opinion about nuclear weapons. For example, each of the four members of the Core Team for the Stop the Nuclear Arms Race Roundtable receive a $5,000 honorarium from Ploughshares for their leadership of cross-organizational efforts to bolster our collective impact on the future of arms control and diplomacy. Includes VIP seating for you and your guests.
Analyst Level – $2,500. As an Analyst, you help to demonstrate the benefits of safer nuclear policies. For example, $2,500 covers the cost of an educational workshop about the legacy of nuclear weapons in a community impacted by past harms. In addition, Analysts receive entry for eight guests.
