Ciára Whitnall (cello)
Ciára Whitnall is currently studying for her Bachelors in Cello Performance at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien, Hannover, Germany with Prof. Leonid Gorokhov. She was born in London in 2002 and has studied piano from the age of four and cello the age of six. Ciára began her cello studies with Tessa Oakley and was later accepted into the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London as a student of Robert Max. She won the Junior Cello Prize while at the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded her piano ATCL Performance Diploma and cello DipABRSM Performance diploma with distinction at sixteen. Ciára has performed in many solo and chamber music concerts in Europe and North America. Over the summer, Ciára was invited to perform at the Verão Clássico Festival in Lisbon where she received masterclasses from Frans Herlmerson and also performed in Italy as part of the Chieti Classica Academy. She is a regular active participant in the Fundação Franz Schubert performing solo and ensemble where she has received masterclasses from Marc Coppey. In 2022 and 2023, she gave recitals in Holland as part of the International Holland Music Sessions. Ciára is a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover e.V.
Maria Tarasewicz (piano)
Maria Tarasewicz has gained an international reputation as a chamber musician, duo partner and a pedagogue. She is committed to working with and developing younger artists, and invitations not only as a performer but also as a teacher and accompanist have taken her to Norway, Belgium, France, Italy, Jersey, San Marino, Poland, China and many UK festivals and masterclasses. Maria has performed in all of London’s major concert venues including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall Purcell Room and many others. She also appears regularly on BBC Radio 3. Maria was born in Ukraine, then moved with her family to Poland. She went on to study in Belgium and after meeting her husband she moved to London where she is now based. Maria searches for artistic answers through being the co-founder of The Thinking Musician and outreach projects with organisations such as BlindAid.
