The Celebration of Life for Donny Allen will be taking place at Barnard Exempts Banquet Hall at 360 Maiden Ln, Greece NY 14616, between the hours of 1 and 5 pm on Sunday, August 31st, 2025... Aka the afternoon of what would have normally been the day of DCA Finals.The facility features an indoor banquet area in the case of inclement weather, and a huge outdoor area as well. Idk what to tell you... Bring your lawn chairs if you want, or don't. Whatever you think is right, IS right.
This will be a more "casual" event than a typical wake or funeral, with music being provided by the Coupe De'Villes and the Greyhounds. Donny wouldn't have it any other way!
A cash or online donation will be accepted, but not required at the door.
The bar will be open for all drinks.. anywhere between a glass of water to a straight glass of rye whiskey, but it will be a cash bar. The owner is donating the facility to us for the afternoon, so please don't be shy about grabbing a few drinks to support the venue!
We are still working out the details regarding food, but please know that at this time, no outside food will be accepted. I will update you all if this changes.
In terms of musical acts, the professional bands from the Rochester area will be fulfilling that need. No other groups will be asked or permitted to play at this event.
If you are a horn player and would like to do a "grand send off/finale for the family," we will be playing You'll Never Walk Alone and Auld Lang Syne at the end of the day. I'll get someone to provide music if needed.
