
About this Event
Keith Cooper was a father, grandfather and beloved member of the Hyde Park community in Chicago, IL. On July 14th, 2021, he lost his life to a sensless attempted carjacking right in his own neighborhood in the Kimbark Plaza shopping center. He was on his way to pick up his prescription medications from CVS Ph*rm*cy when his life was taken. His death devasted the entire city and nation along with his friends and family. Keith Cooper is deeply cherished and missed.

On July 22nd, 2022, he would have turned 75 years old. To celebrate his life, love and legacy, the family of Keith Cooper is hosting a screening of Jordan Peele's new movie, NOPE! Sci fi/Horror was two of his favorite genres of movies. What better way to celebrate him than to gather together in his honor. While, at the same time, raising money for the Keith Cooper Fund founded by his beloved church, the Augustana Luthern Church of Hyde Park.
The Keith Cooper fund aims to provide financial support to local youth in the community where he lived that are seeking non-traditional forms of education, vocational and artistic endeavors.
