About this Event
Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie, 中秋节), also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is celebrated in Chinese culture. It is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year and during Mid-Autumn Festival, families reunite, celebratory dinners are had, mooncakes are eaten, the moon is worshipped and paper lanterns lit.
This year, Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on Tuesday 17 September, and we would love you to join us in the Atrium between 11:00AM and 3:00PM to celebrate! Open to all students, staff and the local community, expect visual displays, traditional giveaways, and crafty workshops, such as lantern making, on the day. This event is running as part of the university’s BeConnected Programme and traditional dress is encouraged if you have this.
