Maida Hill - A greener and more welcoming public space
Part funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the project has created a more vibrant, accessible and community focused public space.
The improvements include:
- Flexible community space: Improved market and event infrastructure with seating for everyday use and organised activities.
- Environmental improvements: Climate resilient planting and sustainable drainage to support nature and reduce flood risk.
- New public toilets: Accessible facilities built with reclaimed stone to reduce carbon impact.
- Pedestrian priority space: Road closure creating dedicated pedestrian areas and a new north–south cycle lane.
- Safety and accessibility: Enhanced lighting, clear sightlines and protective planting create a secure environment.
