After her newspaper in Memphis, Free Speech, was destroyed, Ida B. Wells moved to Chicago, where she became a crusader against lynching and an advocate for women’s rights. One of the greatest civil rights leaders of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, her legacy of activism continues to this day.Speakers and performers include:
