About this Event
To celebrate our 15th birthday, we’re hosting a series of workshops in March 2026. These workshops are a fundraiser and a way to grow our Patreon scheme, which helps us provide home visits for disabled clients and subsidised services for low-income clients.

What is this workshop?
During this workshop you'll learn about styling your curls, from easy and quick routines through to special occasions. We'll spend some time figuring out your curls' natural behaviours and tendencies and explore ways to get the best out of what they have to offer!
Workshop leader
This workshop is led by Rachel Ruddick, a stylist at Open Out for three years. Rachel trained with Toni & Guy and the London School of Barbering.
She's grown passionate for curls and loves to geek out over curly hair processes, so she's excited to share practical knowledge and support you to grow in confidence with your curls.
Topics we’ll cover:
- hair washing, conditioning and curl treatment options
- products for curly hair
- styling tools
- drying techniques
- and more!
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for:
- Clients with Type 2 and Type 3 curls: See here our curly hair chart
- Beginners to styling curly hair
- People with some experience of managing their curls but who want to explore and gain a better understanding of their options
Timings & refreshments
- 2.30pm — Workshop starts
- 5:00pm — Finish

- Comfort breaks can be taken throughout the day
