Celebration of Research and Innovation Annual Conference: Making a difference – mixing methods and crossing disciplines
About this Event

The Centre for Health, Activity and Wellbeing Research (CAWR) is hosting its second Celebration of Research and Innovation Annual Conference: Making a difference – mixing methods and crossing disciplines

The event will take place on Wednesday 26th June 8.45am – 4.00pm.

This free inter- and multi-disciplinary event will showcase the research and innovation work in the area of health, activity and wellbeing both at Cardiff Met and further afield through a range of UK based and international partners. The conference will also be a chance to network with other people who either work, study or have an interest in the broad area of health, activity and wellbeing. It will be of interest to students, researchers and practitioners. This year’s focus for the conference is on mixing methods and crossing disciplines to help solve some of our society's challenges. The conference programme allows for ample time for both hearing about research and networking with the other delegates. Delegates are especially welcome from outside of Cardiff Metropolitan University.

This conference is an important academic and networking event that has something for everyone:

• Be inspired by our keynote speakers, both have over 20 years experience of working in the area of public health, activity and wellbeing:

Professor Jim McManus, National Director of Health and Wellbeing, Public Health Wales

Lauren Idowu, Principal Health Promotion Specialist, Public Health Wales Cardiff & Vale.

• Discover new innovative research and how it is used in practice.

• Hear about contemporary transdisciplinary research.

• Be part of an event that builds connections across people, professions, spaces and places.

• Engage in active dialogue with experienced researchers and practitioners, and discuss and discover new research directions with members of our CAWR Early Career Community.
