About this Event

Castle Chorus Summer Concert

Join us for some fantastic tunes and a great time with friends and family. We have a range of songs from around the world and throughout the ages. This term there has been old trad classics like Simon and Garfunkel, modern gospel and some songs written by ourselves. Come enjoy the uplifting vibes and fantastic voices in the light and airy Main Hall in St Columba's by the Sea. We'll probably go to the pub after!

The Main Hall is fully accessible (there is a lift).

Tickets are free to reserve online. Please pay on the door. Cash and card accepted.

For those of you who don't know, Castle Chorus are a community folk and roots choir based in Edinburgh.
Check us out on Facebook, Youtube and Soundcloud to see if you like our vibe. Listen to our Summer Concert from last year here.

Led by Caro Overy, we sing a big range of songs without accompaniment, including some contemporary folk and some more traditional and roots type music, with a splash of jazz and some more experimental things too. Castle Chorus was started in 2015 and is an Edinburgh based mixed voice community choir, and part of the Natural Voice Network.

We also collaborate with Edinburgh-based songwriters and musicians (and those further afield) to perform beautiful new arrangements of fresh songs. We also sometimes compose our own songs to sing at choir, usually as a group, but individuals also do this too!

In the last 10 years we have performed twice at Rossyln Chapel (including once on Winter solstice!), performed our own 10th Anniversary concert and sell-out Christmas concert. We’ve been highly commended in the Chorus Awards, sung as part of an Edinburgh Book Festival play, sung on the Isle or Arran, done Christmas Carols on Princess Street and for two sheltered accomodations, performed at the Scottish Parliament, as well as been featured on BBC Radio Scotland and Castle FM.
