Case investigator training for those who undertake this role in investigations about practitioners, delivered virtually.
About this Event

Day 1: 09:15 to 17:00

Day 2: 09:15 to 13:30

Delivery format: Virtual

Delegates must attend both sessions to complete the training and receive a certificate of attendance.

This is an interactive course and uses case studies to explore and develop the key skills and knowledge required by case investigators

Places are open on a first come first served basis, please book early to secure your place.

There is a cap of 4 tickets per organisation, if you require more please email us at [email protected] and we will place you on a waitlist. We will contact you closer to the date of the event if we are able to offer your organisation additional tickets.

Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • explore how concerns about a practitioner's practice arise and identify the most common factors affecting performance
  • explain why the decision to investigate is made and suggest other options to resolve performance concerns
  • describe roles and responsibilities for those involved in investigations
  • plan for an investigation which meets national requirements
  • describe the principles of robust and meaningful terms of reference and know how to work within them
  • c ollect, review and weigh evidence
  • conduct an investigative interview using a structured approach, including the PEACE model
  • recognise the key skills and attributes of a case investigator
  • recognise their own limits of competence and access sources of support and expertise
  • reference relevant national/local standards
  • write an investigation report with conclusions
  • describe the potential legal challenges to an investigation

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

On rare occasions we have to reschedule workshops due to low registration numbers. We will let you know at least four weeks before the workshop date if we plan to change workshop arrangements. We recommend that travel and accommodation arrangements are not made sooner four weeks prior to the workshop.

Feedback

Delegates will be requested to provide feedback on the content and quality of training delivered after the event and then again some months later on the impact of the workshop. We use this feedback to plan future events and understand the needs of our target audiences.

Tickets

We are required to charge VAT in line with HMRC regulations. VAT is payable depending on the type of body or organisation that is funding or will be reimbursing the purchase of the ticket(s). Please review the tickets list and ensure you select the one applicable to you/your organisation. If none applies, please select ‘Other’ ticket.

We check all ticket purchases and will query as required. If VAT has not been paid where due, the ticket will be cancelled and refunded and you will be required to make a new booking of the correct ticket type.

Cancellation

To cancel your attendance at the workshop please do so via your Eventbrite account using the refund request button or the contact organiser link.

Please note the below cancellation charges:

• More than 28 working days before the workshop start date: No charge

• Less than 28 working days before the workshop start date: 20% administration fee will apply*

• Less than 14 working days before the workshop start date: 100% fee applies*

*Please note refunds for failure to attend the workshop cannot be made.

Refund requests will be processed within 3 working days. Once processed, refunds can take up to 7 working days to appear in your account.
