An ongoing, facilitated inquiry into the narratives we live by.
About this Event

The human ability to belong, to create stories, and to cultivate relationship- with others, with the places we live and move through, and the wider world- is grounded in the capacity to see context. The act of telling and making story contextualizes fragmented pieces of information, individualized personal identities, and seemingly unassociated forces into a larger field of relationship. Story knits together fragmented worlds and disjointed minds. It makes a place of belonging for that which is not supposed to belong.

In this two-part writing session we’ll be exploring the capacity of story-making to create belonging- for ourselves and for the events and happenings that touch all of our lives. How might this re-enliven our dormant agency of creative expression and original response?

You’re welcome to join for both or either one of the sessions as you’re able.

Through sharing of stories, time for writing, discussion, and reflection, we’ll turn our creative eye toward curiosity and a more expansive story.

---

Stories define and make our lives—both individually and collectively. Many of the stories we live by operate quietly in the background, shaping perception, meaning, and relationship.

Cartographies of Story is an ongoing facilitated inquiry into these living narratives. Together, we’ll cultivate curiosity and attentiveness toward the stories that shape us, experimenting with how we create and receive them.

This is a gathering for those drawn to story as terrain rather than product. It's a space for people working with story, memory, and meaning—writers, artists, thinkers; for those who are curious about story beyond craft or diagnosis; for those interested in story as ecology, memory, and movement.

Each gathering offers simple practices for orientation, attention, and exchange. This is not a class, nor a therapy space, nor a lecture, but a participatory exploration—one that invites presence, reflection, and dialogue. Each gathering offers a shared field for noticing how meaning emerges, and for engaging the inherently relational nature of being human.

Come as a listener, a teller, or a witness.

This session will be facilitated by A Peace of My Mind's Nick Theisen (see bio below).
