About this Event

Anthony Ceballos is a poet, writer, and turkey sandwich enthusiast. In 2016 he was selected to be a Loft Literary Center Mentor Series mentee. His work has been featured in Yellow Medicine Review, Queer Voices: Poetry, Prose and Pride, Great River Review and elsewhere. He is a graduate of Randolph College's low residency creative writing program in Virginia. He lives, breathes and writes in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He can be found penning staff recommendations at Birchbark Books and Native Arts.

Author of nine books of poetry and prose Heid E. Erdrich is a curator and teacher. Erdrich edited the anthology New Poets of Native Nations and co-edited the newly published Boundless: Abundance in Native American Art and Literature. She served as the inaugural Minneapolis Poet Laureate supported by an Academy of American Poets award. Erdrich held the 2025 James Welch Distinguished Visiting position at University of Montana Missoula. Erdrich’s on-going project is Poetry Service Announcement (PoeS.A.) which promotes poetry as public art. She serves her communities through formal and informal mentorship, poetry interventions, and in activating collaborative response between communities.

Sherman Funmaker is a poet, essayist, and speaker, and an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation from Baraboo, Wisconsin. After graduating from UW–Baraboo, Funmaker began coaching and collaborating with other writers and creatives in his community. He has presented workshops on storytelling for high school students and adults. In addition to writing, Sherman has a life-long love for music and has worked as a designer, creating custom pieces for his clothing line, Funmaker Custom Clothing. He lives in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

The M is more than a museum, more than brick and mortar. Minnesota Museum of American Art is an inclusive community arts center for all who call the Twin Cities home. In addition to offering exhibitions and programs in the new museum facility, the museum partners with artists, schools, libraries, and cultural organizations around the state to bring the M into Minnesota communities. For an evening event there should be plenty of street parking at meters. The nearby First National ramp is connected to The M via skyway, as well as the Jackson ramp.

This event is free. The poets books will be for sale at the event.
