From a Gitano family flamenco tradition that started in 1894 to the professional company today. Ms. Flamenco is the fifth generation flamenco and Spanish dancer in her Gitano family legacy, is part of the third generation flamenco legacy of Pastora Imperio in Sevilla Spain and part of the second generation acting legacy of Sanford Meisner.


Bio
Known as a dynamic artist, CAROLÉ TACHÍRIA ACUÑA FLAMENCO is the fifth generation flamenco & Spanish dancer in her Gitano family legacy, a Meisner & AEA Union actor, stand-up comedian, singer, choreographer, author, a Masters of Fine Arts candidate, flamencologist. She grew up dancing flamenco and Spanish dance in the home with her mother, Carolina Lugo and other family members. She is the private protégé of Pepa Montes; part of the prestigious flamenco schooling lineage of Pastora Imperio and Matilde Coral and trained in ballet, modern, contemporary dance as well. She also studied with Lola Montes, Rosa Montoya, Christian Almodóvar, Manuel Betanzos, Esperanza Fernández, Concha Vargas, Miguel Vargas, El Torómbo, Farruquito, Robert Moses, Jim Jarrett, Cheryl Chaddick, Eddie Brill, Kati Mejia, among others. Ms. Flamenco studied acting at American Conservatory Theatre and also trained at a specialty Meisner acting conservatory with Sanford Meisner's last teaching protégée for two years, as well as five years in the professional actor's studio and one year focused on teaching the Meisner technique. She is the director of FLAMENCO SPANISH DANCE THEATRE of AMÉRICA (founded by Carolina Lugo in 1995). A couple things Ms. Flamenco is currently working on, are the company's next anniversary season as well as her one person show, that Don Reed is helping guide the creation process of. She performs in large theatres, with symphonies, operas, in film, television, commercials, web-series, comedy clubs and special story telling shows. She has done voice acting and percussion recordings for Lucasfilm Ltd. LLC and was one of the hand picked artists by Jennifer Lopez to be on “¡Qué Viva! The Chosen”.
