Paisley Opera's new Scots translation moves the action from the sultry heat of 19th century Seville, to the energy, optimism and excitement of 1960s Paisley. The town is booming, from the mills to St Mirren Football Club. Escamillo, St Mirren's star player, falls for the free-willed, free-loving Carmen, creating a love triangle which can only end in tragedy.
Paisley Opera's production of Carmen is proudly brought to you by Paisley Opera Community chorus, invited professional soloists, children from Glentcoats, St Fergus, and West Primary schools, right2dance and The Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
"I was blown away by the commitment to excellence and the evident enjoyment that radiated from all in the company. Paisley Opera is something very special and worth celebrating." Macbeth review: Donal Hurley, Edinburgh Music Review
Please note: this production is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
Contains adult themes, simulated violence and bad language
