Caregivers, Escape to a Weekend of Rest, Renewal, and Connection.


This three-day event brought to you by The More Than Project and Finding Cooper's Voice will include an evening of appetizers and champagne toast with Adrian Wood of Tales of an Educated Debutante, Carrie Cariello of What Color is Monday, and Kate Swenson of Finding Cooper's Voice and a celebration of their new book, Autism Out Loud. Day two will consist of a full-day of speakers and breakout sessions on a variety of topics catered to you the caregiver, and will conclude with a dj lead dance party. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The third day will deliver a keynote by Adrian Wood, brunch, and a cruise on the river.

This event will be focused on you, the caregiver and helping you learn, make a friend, feel seen, rest, have a blast, and more. You won't want to miss this life changing event.

Start: Thursday, May 15th, 2025 at 5:00 pm
End: Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 1:00 pm

Note: Many of the attendees will fly in on either Wednesday or Thursday morning and stay until Sunday while actual retreat programming is from Thursday at 5 pm to Saturday at 1 pm.

Carrie Cariello

Carrie Cariello is the author of What Color Is Monday: How Autism Changed One Family for the Better, Someone I’m With Has Autism, and Half My Sky: Autism, Marriage, and the Messiness That is Building a Family.

Carrie has been interviewed by NBC Nightly News and has given a TEDx talk. She speaks regularly about autism, marriage, and motherhood, and writes a weekly blog. One of her essays, “I Know What Causes Autism,” was featured as one of the Huffington Post’s best, and her piece, “I Know Why He Has Autism,” was named one of the top blog posts by the TODAY Show.

Kate Swenson

Kate Swenson is the author of Forever Boy and the creator of Finding Cooper’s Voice, a community for those impacted by disability to come together to laugh, cry, and feel supported. She speaks and collaborates regularly about autism, parenting and motherhood. Her mission is to create a safe space for families of children and teens with special needs to come together and laugh, cry and support each other. She lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children.

Adrian Wood

Adrian H. Wood is the voice behind the vlog Tales of an Educated Debutante which she began in 2016. Adrian earned a PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis and prior to motherhood she was an early childhood researcher. She and her husband are raising four children in rural North Carolina and their youngest son Amos was diagnosed with autism at age three. She collaborates regularly on medical and educational campaigns and speaks about finding joy in the unexpected life.

Camille Joy

Camille Joy is a devoted wife and mother, with a heart as vast as her roles: entrepreneur, podcaster, advocate, and a beacon of hope. She radiates joy and utilizes her diverse platforms to uplift families navigating the unique challenges of raising children with special needs.

In 2018, Camille Joy embarked on an inspiring journey when she launched her podcast, "Moments of Joy." Today, it stands tall as a premier platform, uniting parents raising children with disabilities and providing them with a supportive community. In her weekly podcast episodes, Camille draws from her personal experiences and shares compelling narratives from parents and professionals across the globe.

Her mission is crystal clear: to deliver genuine support and absolute transparency to parents in the caregiving journey. This cause holds a special place in her heart, as her youngest son, Maison, was born with congenital heart disease and later diagnosed with Autism. Camille Joy's life is a testament to the power of empathy, resilience, and unwavering determination to make a difference in the lives of families like hers.

Mia Carella

Mia Carella is a writer and parenting blogger who resides in Pennsylvania. She lives with her husband, their two children, their dog, Ophelia, and their cat, Frankie Heck.

In 2016, Mia started writing to share her journey as a medical mom and disability parent. What started as a means of self-expression grew into a passion for disability awareness, advocacy and inclusion. She has continued to work to develop a supportive community for readers on Facebook and Instagram. Mia’s work has been published on Parents, Scary Mommy, HuffPost, and more.

Tiffany Weaver

Cancellations up to 30 days prior to the event will be refunded 50% of the total purchase price.

Cancellations 29 days or less will not be refunded, and the ticket becomes a charitable donation to The More Than Project.
