Vibrant percussion, high-energy rhythms, and global grooves mixed with a Latin feel. Named after the calm, warm-hearted, and famously friendly animal, we bring that same welcoming energy to every show, creating an open dance floor where everyone feels included, seen, and free to move! From Brazil to across Latin America, capybaras are at home everywhere, and we want to be there too: crossing borders, blending influences, and showing up wherever communities gather to celebrate. Based in Vancouver, we play to get people moving and to bring cultures together on one dance floor. Our sets pull in tunes from different traditions, inviting the city’s many communities to share the vibe and feel seen in the music. Capybaras is more than a band; it’s a happening! Four parties a year, built to spark real cultural connection through rhythm, celebration, and collective joy.

About the Gest Artists
APÄTRIDA is Pablo Zacarías' latest musical project, a cross-cultural collaboration featuring artists from Mexico, Spain, Cuba, Canada, Brazil, Egypt, Colombia and Serbia. The project explores themes of identity, displacement, and transformation, with the single "No te resistas (a la realidad)" ("Don't Resist Reality") receiving critical acclaim. APÄTRIDA will perform as a trio featuring Victor Jiménez (Spain) and Rayko Luna (Cuba).
DJ André Brasil has performed at private parties and music events in both Canada and Brazil, primarily for Brazilian and Latin American audiences in Canada. His style is rooted in the sounds of the 1980s and 1990s, while also spotlighting emerging pop artists and contemporary dance music. Blending Brazilian dance genres with international pop, he incorporates special remixes and original tracks from albums by both classic and current dancefloor icons, creating high-energy sets that balance nostalgia, discovery, and vibrant dancefloor appeal.
