“In the Same Room: Songs in conversation across time and place”, is an immersive choral experience where voices inspired by Baroque, Indigenous, Persian, Indian, popular and jazz music meet in conversation. Directed by Dr. Hussein Janmohamed, the evening will feature guest artists Saina Khaledi (santoor), Sunny Matharu (tabla), Shruti Ramani (vocals) and Edmund Lau Sing (piano).
Inspired by the words of Stó:lō Elder Lee Maracle - “we must be in the same room to create a shared future” - this concert offers a powerful reminder of music’s ability to unite.
