About the Presenters

Sophie Sullivan is the author of multiple romcoms, including the Canadian Book Club winners, Ten Rules for Faking It and How to Love Your Neighbor. She lives in the Fraser Valley with her family, loves writing romance, and writes that and cozy mysteries under her real name, Jody Holford.

Katrina Kwan is a Vancouver-based author and actress. After graduating from Acadia University in 2017 with a BA in political science with honors, Kwan spent the next six years honing her creative skills as a freelance ghostwriter. With several ghostwritten romance novels under her belt, she’s ecstatic to finally be writing books under her own name.

Lindsay Maple is a writer, yogi, and mother. She was born and raised in the prairie provinces before moving to BC in 2013 where she found her true home. The landscapes and people of BC continue to be a source of inspiration for Lindsay, and you can feel that in her work— whether it’s sharing a first “I Love You” at an Airbnb in View Royal, Victoria, or pranking evil ex boyfriends in District 1881 in Chilliwack, or a romantic proposal in the old growth forests at the Capilano Suspension bridge, there’s always something a BC resident can enjoy in Lindsay’s books. When she’s not writing she’s busy managing a yoga and fitness studio, teaching several classes a week (including goat yoga), chasing around her two wild little boys, and kicking her husband’s butt at Mario Kart.

Amy Pelletier is the owner of Perfect Match Bookshop, Vancouver’s first romance and joy-focused bookstore. A lifelong romance reader, she opened Perfect Match to create a welcoming, inclusive space for book lovers. From book clubs to author events, she’s passionate about building community and believes that every reader should feel at home and be able to find themselves in the stories on her shelves.

About the Festival

The North Shore Writers Festival (NSWF) is presented in partnership by North Vancouver City Library, North Vancouver District Public Library, and West Vancouver Memorial Library.

The NSWF would not be made possible without support from the Friends of the Library groups at NVDPL and WVML, North Shore Writers’ Association, Kidsbooks, and the North Shore News.

The Festival takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) , and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. The Coast Salish Peoples have long used oral storytelling to pass on and preserve their cultural teachings. This powerful tradition highlights the important role that stories play in our lives. We are grateful to host the North Shore Writers Festival on the lands of these Nations and honour the art of storytelling.
