About this Event
Immerse yourself in the forested wetlands of Northern Indiana and join us for a weekend of community building & wilderness skills. Together we will practice connecting with nature through wilderness skills such as fire-crafting, shelter-building, foraging, and cooking over a fire. We will learn camping basics & share meals together around a fire.
To begin the weekend, we will ground ourselves in the present moment with a faciliated forest bathing session with Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, Donna. We will move slowly and invite all of our senses to explore the emergence of spring around us.
Wilderness skills will be facilitated throughout the weekend by Yadira, guiding us through hands on activities such as using a fire by friction kit, carving your own foraging stick, or designing a fairy-sized shelter.
Hayley & Marta, our hosts & caretakers of the land we will visit, will nourish our bodies with a delicious home-cooked meal of Papusas & ferments on Saturday evening.
All other meals will be a pitch-in style where all community members are encouraged to share and contribute.
